Samsung UN46B8000 46-Inch 1080p 240Hz LED HDTV Top Quality

just got it up and running today. put in "crank" and knew i would have to take it off standard and put it on movie mode. that was good. tried "the matrix" and it looked a bit too green so i took that down a little, along with picture. took dark up one. then threw in "death race" and damn, there it is: perfect tv! i suppose i will do a THX tweak whenever i get one of those movies but it looks really great after just a few adjustments.

after reading some reviews that had distress about some light in the corners, i went to best buy and stared and stared. i just can't see it! i love this tv. still have a sony DLP in the living room which is decent at 1080i but this blows it away for clarity. movies look wet, like they did when i had a plasma tv (a toshiba that broke) and i may noticed a couple motion moments but i can't be sure until i watch a lot more. which i plan on doing. also plan on running ps3 games but have not gotten around to that yet. i'll ammend if i find problems but so far i am very happy with my purchase. Great LED TV, was looking for months at the Samsung, LG, and Sharp LED TVs and the Samsung had the best picture by far. I went with the 8000 model because the blacks are deeper and the picture popped more than the 6000 or 7000 models. I figured I keep my TV's for close to 10 years on average so might as well pay a few hundred to get something better. All of the negatives you read about searchlights and uneven backlight I am not noticing on my set at all. It was built in October of 2009 and I have applied the latest firmware (1013) from the Samsung website. The picture is nothing short of amazing. I was debating on the 8500 model but felt like it wasn't worth close to a grand more for the minor difference in contrast ratio. Great TV set, makes my Sony 50 inch XBR look horrible! If you are looking at this there is nothing that should stop your from buying, apply the latest firmware from Samsung and this set rocks! Shop around though, we picked this one up online for $2400 with free shipping and no tax from an authorized Samsung retailer and for that price feel like it is a steal. Would definitely buy again! This TV is everything that you read it would be - But the wireless internet connection has not worked for me yet.
I have had techs here and they don't know why. If anyone out there has this TV working on wireless network let me know. I will write more once this is fixed.

Good:
The color, contrast and detail are  amazing.
Makes my eyes, like other TV HD SD.
Light weight (compared to plasma), easier to hang (without heavy metal tanks on the wall of the plasma of large size)
Hidden Speakers
Stupid blue light can be turned off

Bad:
With scenes that are dark in color with lots of black, you can see the effect of background light, as if a flash of light was behind a black veil.
I am willing to tolerate the situation, given the quality of the image 99% of the time (not black scenes), but thus 4 stars instead of 5.

Note that I made the video setting for video-Pro DVD, but, as I am still fascinated by the clarity of images (which have had for 1 week)
